Getting recommended by ChatGPT in 4 steps: Pandorra Studio article cover

Your customers no longer ask only Google. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity which shop to choose, which hotel to book, which agency to contact. AI answers with two or three names. If yours isn’t one of them, that customer will never find you. Getting recommended by AI takes work, and it follows a four-step method.

The reality

Take a niche perfumery in Geneva. A customer asks ChatGPT for the best perfumery in the city. AI answers with three names, and the perfumery isn’t one of them. That customer will go to a competitor without ever knowing it exists.

Our own tests confirm it: on October 21, 2026, when we asked ChatGPT for the best real estate agencies in Geneva, it named six. The full results are in our article Geneva, Monaco, Luxembourg, Brussels: ChatGPT names only five or six real estate agencies per city.

Step 1. Know what AI says about you

Everything starts with a clear picture. We ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity the questions your customers really ask, like “best perfumery in Geneva” or “niche perfume near me”. We note who gets cited, from which sources, and why. You know exactly where you stand, and who AI recommends instead of you.

Step 2. Publish pages that answer

AI cites what it can quote word for word. So your website must answer your customers’ questions clearly: an FAQ, a page for each service, and precise information about your opening hours, your neighborhood and your specialties.

Steps 1 and 2: know what AI says about you, publish pages that answer

Step 3. The same information everywhere

Your website, your Google Business Profile, your industry’s directories, your social media and your customer reviews must say the same thing: same name, same address, same services. AI cross-checks its sources and trusts what is consistent.

Step 4. Measure every month

Every month, we ask the same AI tools the same questions and compare their answers. Your name appears, then climbs. You track your progress on real, dated answers.

Steps 3 and 4: the same information everywhere, measure every month
